Be familiar with the Laws of the Game and abide by them
Be ready in good time for your match.
Adhere to the dress code
Shake hands with your opponent before and after a game
Respect the playing surface.
Switch your mobile phone to silent
Keep to your own rink (behind the mat/head when you are not in possession of the rink), remain attentive and support your team.
Wait until your opponent’s bowl has come to rest before taking control of the rink.
The Skip shall have charge of the team, and the players shall observe his/her instructions.
Stand still when a player is on the mat and remain quiet behind the mat when a player is about to deliver a bowl.
As soon as your bowl has come to rest, possession of the rink passes to your opponent.
On sunny days, be aware of your shadow. Do not let it mask the jack, nor permit it to fall in front of the mat when a player is about to bowl.
Be aware of players on the next rink.
Avoid obscuring rink markers (where possible).
Encourage and praise the rest of the team, including the skip.
Never criticise your opponent, the green/rink, or your own team.
Always appear to be enjoying the game.
Compliment your opponent on a good shot.
Admit a fluke with grace.
Be a gracious winner and a good loser.
