This is a brief guide to using the [Bowls Surrey] MATCH system
Select from the menu below
1. CREATE a login to the MATCH system (if you are not already using the system)

1. CREATE a login to the MATCH system
Before you use the system you must create a LOGIN
Go to the BOWLS SURREY website by click here. If you see the Bowls Surrey website (and not the MATCH system login screen) clock on ‘online‘
Ignore the ‘Username’ and ‘Password’ and scroll down to the bottom left of the box and click on the blue ‘Create login‘ link and follow the instrcutions
You should get a message from Bowls Surrey –
Registration submitted
Thank you, your details will be processed. If successful you will receive an email shortly (you may need to check your spam folder).
You will get an email asking you to ‘Click to activate’. Then enter your ‘Username’ (your email address) and choose a password that you WILL remember.
Now you are all set to-:
- Make/Edit/Cancel a Rink Booking
- Apply for/Confirm availability for/Withdraw from Inter-Club matches
- View all your confirmed Inter-Club and Club Competition and Surrey County matches. Enter results of Club and County matches
- View all the draws and results of all Club Competitions
[NOTE 1: Some member’s Menu’s with differ from others, dependant on your Admin status]
[NOTE 2: Some options will apprear on different locations on the screen, dependant on the device you are using]
2. VIEW your current Inter-Club match situation
When you click on MATCHES/MY MATCHES you will see – on the left [or top] of the screen, the following headings – possibly with ‘count’ numbers to the right of them.
2a – ‘Apply
2b – ‘Confirm
2c – My Applications
2d – My Matches
If you click on these headings the system will display all the matches that fall under the criteria explained below
‘Apply’ – these matches are available for you to apply for (your ‘count’ number will reduce as you apply). Note these are applications only and a selection process follows hereafter.
‘Confirm’ – these are matches you have applied for and have been selected, but are waiting for you to ‘Confirm’ your availability (your ‘count’ number will reduce once you confirm and your ‘My Matches‘ count will increase
‘My Applications’ – these are matches you have applied for, which are still awaiting selection (your ‘count’ number will reduce as the selection process is carried out – whether you are selected or not)
‘My Matches’ – these are matches you have applied for, been selected for, and have Confirmed. ‘Withdraw‘ if neccessary, but PLEASE advise the Captain of The Day, so that you can be replaced.
3. ACTION your current Inter-Club match situation
Go into the MATCH system and click on ‘Matches/My Matches’
3a. APPLY (for a match or matches)
To apply for a match, or matches, click in the box on the right [or bottom] of the screen for that match and press ‘Apply’ (do not leave the screen). Repeat for any other matches you want to apply for.
The system will now ask you to submit ALL the applications you have chosen’ – press ‘Submit’. The system will them ask you to ‘Confirm your applications’. If you do not do this your applications will not be applied.
The system will now add 1 (or more) to the number of your ‘My Applications’ count
Selection process. The selectors may select you for a match. If they do, you will receive an email confirming this, or an email saying you have not been selected. If you have been selected the system will reduce by 1 your ‘My Applications’ count and add 1 to your ‘Confirm’ count, and will wait for you to Confirm your availability on the system (see below)
3b. CONFIRM (a match you have applied and have been selected for)
Click on ‘Matches’ (if not already there). Click on the ‘Confirm’ heading on the left and you will see the matches wating for you to confirm your availability. On the right-hand side of the match or matches you want to confirm, first click ‘Confirm’. Then click on ‘OK’ when it asks you about Visitors (we don’t use this). Then click on ‘Submit’. The system will now add 1 to the number of your ‘My Matches’ count and reduce 1 from your ‘Confirm’ count
When the Admin has Confirmed the match, the system will deduct 1 from your ‘Confirm’ count
3c. WITHDRAW from an Application
If you have APPLIED for a match but now wish to withdraw.
Go to Matches/My Matches and click on ‘My Applications’. Navigate to the match you wish to withdraw from and click on ‘WITHDRAW‘ This will withdraw you from the match and will reduce your My Applications count by 1. This match will still be available for you to apply for if you change your mind.
3d WITHDRAW from a Match
If you have APPLIED for a match, been selected and which you have Confirmed, but now wish to withdraw, go to ‘Matches/My Matches. Click on the ‘My Matches’ box and navigate to the match you wish to withdraw from. Click on ‘Details‘ and then click on the blue ‘Withdraw‘ box
This will withdraw you from the match and will reduce your My Matches count by 1 and increase your ‘Withdrawn‘ count by 1
4. VIEW your HORLEY, SURREY COUNTY and BOWLS ENGLAND competitions
To see all compeititions go to ‘Competitions/Competitions. You will see Upcoming Matches and Your Competitions.
A 2 character symbol donotes what series of compeititions the match is, i.e.
- HB – a Horley BC match
- Co – a Surrey County match
- BE – a Surrey County match that could lead to a Bowls England match
These are details of YOUR personal match, and the area where you must report the RESULT. The member who is shown first is the Challenger and must organise the match. It also shows the date the match must be Played by and the contact details of the players involved. You can also see the complete draw for this compeition by clicking on ‘View Draw‘
For each competition this will will show you the completere draw, similar to ‘View Draw‘ in Upcoming Matches. It will display the draw in either traditional ‘bracket’ view or in ‘list’ View.
